By removing an explosive event from its original backdrop and placing it in front of pleasant colors, Collibri creates his car crash art.
The results of this project turned out quite beautifully. Instead of the mangled and intertwined cars looking like tragic and horrific events, the scene is disassociated with real life and can be appreciated despite the typically violent nature of these accidents. The cars almost come across as graceful and elegant, especially the ones that are captured mid-air.
Who knew car crash art could be so enchanting? Car crashes are known for drawing in attention, but not usually in the way in which Collibri has achieved. These pieces show that with minor tweaks and adjustments our perceptions can be changed for the good or bad.
