The World's First Cannabis Gym Will Open in San Francisco This Autumn

As more and more states move to legalize marijuana and dispensaries become increasingly common, the first ever cannabis gym is set to open in the near future. Power Plant Fitness is a weed-friendly gym to be established in San Francisco this fall.

Co-founder Jim McAlpine notes the facility "won’t be a place to get high and just screw around." Instead, he hopes to explore the connection between pot use and potential benefits to physical fitness and athletic performance.

As McAlpine's expertise is in marketing, the cannabis gym will also be offering a line of branded edibles and concentrates. In San Francisco it is illegal to smoke any substance indoors, which means visitors will be limited to ingesting or vaping only.
