Famous baking blog Bakerella has come up with this alluring cake pop decorating recipe that transforms the little balls of torte into deceiving candy mints and bonbons. The pops filled with techicolor swirled designs are even wrapped in cellophane to complete the look of edible hard candies.
Transforming the cake pops into candies is relatively easy since the circular shape is what ties the two desserts together. The pops are fashioned out of chocolate cake and icing that is then dipped into a white candy coating to create a hard shell. Once dried, the pops are covered in an array of pinwheel swirled designs using edible food coloring markers and then layered with glitter. The final sweets can be wrapped in cellophane bows for an added effect.
