The Cake Angry Series Finds a Different Use for Leftover Dessert

Mom always told us not to play with our food, but photographer Geoff Levy has disregarded that advice for his latest series 'Cake Angry.'

Not wanting leftover cake from a photoshoot to go to waste, Levy turned it into an art project. As the project's title suggests, Levy got a little angry, using the cake as an artistic outlet for his inner rage by throwing it off rooftops, booting it across the river and even taking a bat to it.

The series is intended as a critique on the large amounts of food wasted in the city. Levy releases the frustration and helplessness he feels within this wasteful environment in "cathartic moments of punching, punting, baseball hitting [...] resulting in beautiful lumps of colorful sprinkles, fondant and pastry on New York City backdrops."
