A cable car is set to be built in the world's largest cave, the Son Doong cave in Vietnam. A Vietnamese resort company is behind the ambitious venture, which will see a 10.6 kilometer cable car ride constructed in the UNESCO-listed site. If and when completed, the Son Doong car will become the longest cable car ride in the world ahead of China's Tianmen Shan.
The cable car system would cost $212 million to build and take passengers through the Tien Son and Phong Nha caves before moving on to the fabled Son Doong cave, with three separate stations located in the 9-kilometer long Son Doong cave.
The cave was discovered in 1991, and explored by a British team in 2009.
