This Chinese Resort Transformed Abandoned Buses Into Cartoon Accommodations

A park in Northern China is transforming abandoned buses into a pop culture-themed bus hotel. Located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, Tai Tai Mountain Park recently added cartoon-inspired buses to their accommodations. The resort owners converted more than 30 buses into hotel rooms that feature full bathrooms, private kitchens and colorful decor.

Every bus hotel has its own theme, including Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse. The theme is reflected with interior decorations like bright bedspreads, novelty dishware and stuffed animals, where as cartoon murals adorn the vehicle's exterior.

Tai Tai Mountain Park President Guolin Han explains the buses were cheap to purchase, cost $9000 to redo each and also reduced waste in the process. Targeting couples and families as a demographic, the hotel hopes to add more buses soon.
