Led by Harvard Ph.D. candidate Bicheng Han, BrainRobotics is a brand that's dedicated to providing amputees with highly functional and affordable prosthetic limbs.
It's intention is to improve their quality of life by allowing them to physically interact in ways they previously weren't able to. By making its prosthetic limbs more affordable, BrainRobotics ensures that its products are spread to as many people as possible. It cites that there are approximately 185,000 amputations is the US annually, but less than 2% of them are able to afford functional prosthetic hands.
Controlled by human-machine interface technology, BrainRobotics' devices give amputees the ability to perform a range of different gestures and grab things, with adaptive smart grip technology allowing them to do everything from confidently shaking a hand to pouring a glass of water.
