The swipe-based interface has proven hugely popular with dating apps, but a new app called 'Booky Call' uses the system for a different kind of matchmaking that revolves around book discovery and helping users find books that satisfy their preferences.
While there are many book-suggesting apps out there, the fact of the matter is they often come with a lot of cluttered information in the form of ads, reviews and videos. The 'Booky Call' app takes a more simplified approach, allowing users to set up a profile that requires them to fill out their preferences in terms of genres, topics and tone before letting them swipe through suggestions. What's more, the app uses algorithms to learn about users' preferences as they swipe to accept or reject book suggestions, meaning that the strength of suggestions grows over time.
In addition to being easy to use, this particular book discovery app also gives users the advantage of being able to consider books that they might not have discovered through conventional means.
