This bobsled footwear has been designed by the BMW Group as part of its partnership with the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federatin (BSD) as a futuristic solution for the winter sport team.
The footwear design harnesses the power of 3D printing technology for the outsoles, which are accented strategically with spikes for the best-quality traction on the ice. The spikes can be adjusted according to the shoe style and size for enhanced comfort thanks to a specialized design based on track and field footwear.
The bobsled footwear design is capable of being customized and manufactured on a far quicker and eco-friendly scale thanks to the aforementioned 3D-printed form. The outsoles are expected to be further refined ahead of the Winter Olympics taking place in February 2025.
