The London Taxi Company has revealed an all-new version of the Black Cabs that are one of the most distinctive features of the city.
This TX5 Black Cab manages to retain the spirit and famous aesthetic cues of past models, but takes the technology forward by being electric-powered, reflecting the broader shift towards low-carbon transportation technologies. The vehicle was designed by British nationals Peter Horbury and David Ancona in Barcelona, with the support of over 200 engineers and designers in the UK. It features a lightweight aluminum body and composite panels.
Indeed the London Taxi Company says that it "wanted to retain those aspects that make the London taxi what it is and what it stands for, while ensuring that the new design reflects everything that a 21st century vehicle needs to be.
