Biobased Washable Absorbent Pads

Confitex Technology Delivers PFAS Screened Washable Pads

Confitex Technology has developed washable, reusable absorbent hygiene pads made from stabilized nonwoven materials that are designed to survive machine washing and tumble drying more than 30 times. The products perform like single-use pads while using predominantly biobased fibers and avoiding petroleum-based superabsorbent polymers (SAPs).

The pads are composed of up to 90 percent biobased materials, contain no SAPs, and were independently tested by Intertek to match or exceed the absorbency of disposable alternatives. Incoming bulk raw materials are screened for PFAS and all products meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100; the company holds more than 60 patents and produces in automated facilities in Asia and Europe.

For consumers these pads offer disposable-like protection with reduced waste and routine machine-care convenience, positioning reusable nonwovens as a practical alternative. The technology aligns with regulatory moves away from single-use plastics and supports wider retail adoption and category expansion.
