The Bike Spikes Makes Cycling in Snow Safer and Easier

The Bike Spikes is an attachment for bicycle tires that allows cyclists to continue riding in the winter despite the black ice and snow. It is also versatile enough to comfortably traverse asphalt. Made out of rubber casings fitted with iron teeth for added traction, it is relatively easy to install. It simply wraps around existing tires.

Created by 24-year-old Dutch designer Cesar van Rongen, the Bike Spikes not only turns bikes into a four-season vehicle, it also acts as reflectors. The bright neon color of the Bike Spikes will alert both pedestrians and drivers that a cyclist is on the road. This is especially important when riding in the winter when visibility is more compromised.
