Field Architecture Presents the Big Sur Residence

— May 8, 2025 — Art & Design
American design firm Field Architecture has designed the Big Sur home which rests on top of a rugged peninsula. The scenic region is located in central California and it stretches along the Pacific Ocean, allowing the captivating views to the ocean as well. The home brings residents closer to nature inevitably.

The tranquil nature location also has cypress trees and a ravine which carefully winds down to the ocean. The Palo Alto-based studio Field Architecture explains the design, "The layout of the house follows the natural topography, echoing the cliff as it aligns with the shape of the land. Its volumes form a series of protected garden courtyards that provide shelter from the sun and wind."
