Wool Translucent Pendant Lamps

Studio Truly Trult and Woolmark Craft the Big Glow for Rakumba

Dutch design firm Studio Truly Truly works together with Woolmark to create the Big Glow light for Australian light imprint Rakumba. The Big Glow pendant lamp has a translucent visual and is made from wool and bioplastic materials to honor Australian design and sources. It aims to reflect the Australian sun while creating a soft and warm glow. It comes in a range of rounded shapes and the wool lamp shade is made from wool grown in Victoria fused with bioplastic.

The managing director of Woolmark, John Roberts speaks about the light, "Big Glow exemplifies how natural fibres such as wool can be integrated into modern interiors, reshaping perspectives of long-loved materials while enhancing functionality. This project is a shining example of promoting wool's potential and natural benefits beyond traditional apparel textiles." The light is set to launch during this year's Milan Design Week taking place in April at the Culture of Light installation.
