'Is Beyonce Having a Boy or a Girl' Puts Lyrics to the Test

— September 8, 2011 — Life-Stages
Social media sites and tabloids alike have been abuzz about Beyonce's pregnancy since the self-proclaimed diva made the announcement at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, but the question on everyone's mind remains: is Beyonce having a boy or a girl? In an attempt to answer this, the great people at GOOD.is have combined their pop music knowledge to create a flowchart using the 'Single Ladies' singer's lyrics to, in their own words, "pose hypothetical questions to her unborn child, and try to assess... is it a boy or a girl?"

Based on this irreplaceable flowchart, it seems like if Beyonce and Jay-Z's unborn child's possessions are "in a box to the left," it will be a boy -- on the other hand, if the fetus's response to mention of said possessions is "I bought them. I depend on me," the child will be a girl.

While I am slightly surprised by the lack of 'If I Were a Boy' lyrics in the 'Is Beyonce Having a Boy or a Girl' flowchart, it was definitely a pleasure to read and has made the nine month wait slightly more bearable!
