A beverage robot is being trialed by the Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) in the UK to see how the technology and experience fair in high-traffic locations. CCEP has partnered with TeleRetail for the new robot, which will be shown off at Alton Towers in the UK to help the theme park accelerate deliver of drinks from the distribution center to the various outlets across the park. The robot is capable of traveling at a speed of 3mph with a range of up to 50km, and is outfitted with GPS technology and a bevy of specialized sensors to help it seamlessly navigate the thousands of guests in the park.
Vice President and General Manager at CCEP Leendert Den Hollander spoke on the new beverage robot trial saying, "We are seeking out leading-edge technology start-ups and helping them to grow through access to expertise and the opportunity to test and refine their innovative solutions. The TeleRetail robots are a perfect example of how we are trialling technology that could enable 24/7 on-demand logistic services and eventually be something that can be scaled up to larger vehicles. By developing technology, solutions and processes, we can improve the way we operate, to better serve our customers and consumers – now and in the future."
