Bentley is introducing sensory luxury EVs with the Torcal, its first fully electric model and a vehicle designed to retain emotional driving cues despite the absence of a combustion engine. Its Bentley Dynamic Symphony uses recordings of real drums, viola and bass guitar to create a human-generated propulsion soundtrack inspired by the rhythm of a Bentley V8. The sound responds to vehicle speed and torque demand, providing drivers with audible feedback that changes with vehicle behavior.
For Bentley, the approach provides a way to preserve elements of its brand identity as its powertrain portfolio expands into fully electric vehicles. The Torcal pairs this sensory experience with up to 888 PS, a 375-mile range and 400 kW charging. Combining EV performance with distinctive sound and craftsmanship could help Bentley differentiate its electric models within the premium automotive market.
