BEAMS Unveils the km5's Clear Instant Disk CP1 CD Player

BEAMS has teamed up with Japanese audio brand km5 to unveil a transparent edition of the Instant Disk CP1 CD player. Inspired by 1990s tech trends, this clear version features a polycarbonate shell that exposes the player’s inner mechanics, giving it a sleek, futuristic vibe.

Equipped with Bluetooth 5.1 and offering 7-8 hours of rechargeable power, the player can connect to external sound systems via a 3.5mm stereo jack. A lyric sheet and a separate stand or wall bracket can also be added to transform the unit into a decorative piece.

The resurgence of transparent tech, influenced by the Y2K aesthetic, ties into the ongoing revival of CD sales. The clear Instant Disk CP1 is available for pre-order at BEAMS, and delivery is expected in mid-January 2025.
