The BC Social Enterprise Fund is a project of the BC Social Venture Partners network, which provides a platform for business leaders interested in supporting not-for-profits dedicated to fostering positive social change. The BC Social Venture Partners network is a Canadian provincial network to which members, or "partners," and the Social Enterprise Fund is a a joint effort between the entity and the Vancity and Vancouver Foundation.
The BC Social Enterprise fund application is by invitation-only and provides second-stage capital grants to social enterprises. Once selected as a candidate for such a grant, each project begins development with a planning team equiped with at least one of the network's Social Venture Partners to serve as an advisor. Draft plans for each of the candidate projects are further evaluated in order to select the most viable for funding.
