While many people will applaud the soon-to-be-installed Barclays Center green roof for environmental reason, another more practical one has instigated the long overdue installation that was part of the original plan designed 10 years ago. This is the sight that residents in the surrounding apartment buildings are treated to from their balconies and windows.

Yet once Forest City Ratner and design partner SHoP Architects complete the remodeling, the Barclays Center green roof will small plants and soil covering a 130,000-square-foot expanse. This will effectively turn it into a gorgeous green mound that is brings a breath of fresh air to the immediate residential area.
