Chffr is an innovative new smartphone app, currently only available to those who use Android devices, that is designed to make it possible for the general populace to go about playing a key role in helping to teach autonomous cars how best to understand, interpret and respond to different kinds of human behaviors and inputs.
Once you download the app, all you have to do is go ahead and mount your smartphone on the windshield and leave the app open while you drive around. The app goes about collecting your driving data before uploading it to special servers, where the data is interpreted.
In addition to giving users the opportunity to contribute to autonomous cars' collective intelligence, Chffr also rewards participants with prizes. It's a great example of gamification and crowdsourcing being used for the greater technological good.
