A Swedish company by the name of Elk Audio has introduced an innovative audio OS that is designed to make it easier than ever for musicians who aren't in the same physical space to carry out jam sessions, recording projects and other real-time musical collaborations in a virtual and distanced capacity.
The 'Elk Live' audio OS features analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters as well as standard microphone and instrument inputs, not to mention a crucial headphone jack. The device connects to the Internet and is used in conjunction with a companion online app that doesn't require a program download.
This audio OS solution works with practically zero latency for collaborators who are within 1,000 kilometers of each other.
Available for pre-order for a price of $399 for the device and a monthly subscription fee of $15.99, the 'Elk Live' audio OS is a marvelous way for musicians to keep their art alive even when they're not with their favorite bandmates and collaborators.
