Laser-Beaming Cars

The Audi R8 LMX Has Awesome Laser-Beam Headlights

The all-new Audi R8 LMX is not only the most powerful Audi R8, but it is the world's first production car to be equipped with laser lighting. The laser high-beams are activated when the car reaches speeds above 60 km/h and assist the regular LED headlamps in illuminating the path ahead.

The camera also includes a sensor system that detects the presence of other road users and adjusts its light pattern accordingly to prevent glare and distraction.

Bad-ass lasers aside, the Audi R8 LMX can go from zero to 62 mph in only 3.4 seconds and can hit a top speed just short of 200 mph thanks to its 570-horsepower engine. The engine is hooked up to a seven-speed transmission and an all-wheel-drive.
