Saint Petersburg, Russia-based designer, art director and illustrator Anna Sokolova knows how to take an old concept and apply it in a fresh, interesting way judging by her recent work.
While many people swear by iPads, laptops and smartphones, there are still huge swaths of individuals who prefer actual pen and paper notebooks when it comes to jotting down ideas. For these people, Sokolova has designed notebooks inspired by Matryoshka dolls.
Matryoshka dolls involve one large doll that contains a series of smaller dolls, each smaller doll being contained in the one immediately larger than it. Still, beyond this novel storage system, Matryoshka dolls have a quite distinct aesthetic. It is this look that Anna Sokolova renders her notebooks with.
