Nielsen Can Now Measure Views for Content on Amazon Prime Video

Nielsen recently stated that it now has the capabilities to track the view counts associated with content on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service. The organization originally launched its service two years ago, where it was measuring view counts on the Netflix platform, however, it had also stated that it would work towards adding support for Amazon Prime Video by the year 2018. Nielsen was delayed by a year making its tools available for Amazon Prime Video, the new tool is now available but only for accounts located in the United States.

Nielsen’s measurement tools provide much-needed information on the success of streaming services, due to the fact that exact viewer counts are hard to find. The Sony Pictures Research and Analytics SVP, James Petretti spoke about the tool, stating “Nielsen’s measurement in the SVOD space is invaluable for our studio to understand how our programs perform on these platforms and the audiences they attract,”.
