Jensen has built the Interceptor GTX, a ground-up, track-only prototype that revives the 1966 Interceptor’s fastback silhouette while pairing it with a 6.8-liter supercharged V8. The car is notable for its aluminum chassis and hand-formed bodywork combined with motorsport aerodynamics, creating a thoroughly modern performance GT.
Avant Design penned the body styling, Artiglio Automotive Studio produced the carbon-fiber aerodynamic components and Coventry Metalcraft handcrafted the aluminum panels. The engine comes from Late Model Engines and produces 960 hp in track trim, with headroom for 1,200 hp. Drivetrain hardware includes a rear-mounted Samsonas six-speed sequential transaxle, Wavetrac differential, adjustable multilink suspension and 20-inch forged wheels with AP Racing brakes. The GTX generates 771 pounds of downforce and carries race-spec interior fittings.
For drivers, this promises a deliberately raw, high-downforce driving experience and a clear path to road variants. Jensen intends to produce Interceptor GTR and GT road models if the GTX program succeeds, while the aluminum approach keeps small-batch production flexible.
