Oak Slat Wellness Studios

Align Studio is a Pilates and Yoga Space by Talo Atelier

Align Studio occupies 2,150 square feet in Mexico City's Las Lomas district, where Talo Atelier organized the Pilates and yoga facility around a continuous oak slat installation. Vertical oak profiles wrap across walls, ceilings and movable partitions, forming a unified architectural skin that conceals storage, technical systems and bi-fold panels capable of opening or dividing the studio. Curved openings interrupt the linear timber surfaces with cave-like forms that frame oversized mirrors, while warm wood finishes and indirect lighting establish a consistent material palette from the entrance through the training spaces.

The reception area follows a continuous circulation route connecting lockers and exercise rooms to accommodate peak class transitions. Acoustic treatments isolate sound between spaces, while thermal regulation supports high-temperature hot Pilates sessions. Warm lighting is integrated along floor edges and ceiling junctions, complemented by suspended luminaires and a large backlit circular mirror. Individual training rooms also incorporate chromotherapy, allowing lighting conditions to shift through adjustable color settings during different classes.
