Alfa Romeo will release the mean looking 8C Spider concept car coming the the Geneva Show. Only 500 of the speed machine will be built. Powered by a 4.7 liter V8 which delivers 450 horsepower and a 6 speed Formula one paddle shifter this rear wheel driver will burn the Michelins until you say "uncle."
Implications - Ultra-luxury cars are highly desired by pretty much everyone. Unfortunately, they are only accessible to a certain subsegment of consumers. Companies, understanding the value of these bad boys can keep demand high by exaggerating prices while selling vehicles in extremely limited numbers. Doing so will ensure luxury cars remain high-status among both consumers who can afford them and those who can't.
