At only 22 years old, Alexander Ovechkin not only signed the highest NHL contract ever, but it turns out, he’s also into fashion.
The Washington Capitals player debuted a new streetwear line, designed by Roger Edwards. The hockey player hosted the unveiling of the Ovechkin Designer Street Wear Collection, designed in his honour, at Spice Route this week, a Buddhist-themed pan-Asian hot spot in Toronto.
“The Collection, which includes short and long sleeved tees, fleece and assorted headwear, was designed to capture the passion and style of this year’s NHL top scorer,” Fibre2Fashion.com
“All garments will feature Ovechkin’s signature ‘8’ logo embedded in custom graphics, and will be finished with a CCM by Roger Edwards label.”
Alexander the Great, as many call the Moscow native, was all smiles and his genuine enthusiasm for the fashion venture shone through.
“I am very excited to be launching this line and I love its uniqueness and style”, said Alex Ovechkin.
Roger Edwards adds, “Ovechkin’s distinctive style of play and dynamic personality really inspired me in designing this collection.”
