Gateway Tower Complexes

Alatau Iconic Complex by SOM anchors the emerging city of Alatau

The Alatau Iconic Complex by SOM is a mixed-use development planned as the central business district of Alatau City in Kazakhstan. The project consists of two towers and a surrounding masterplan forming part of the larger Gateway District. Located along the Almaty–Qonaev highway, the development is designed to serve as the economic and administrative center of the new city. The complex integrates office, residential, hospitality, retail, and cultural spaces within a vertical urban structure.

The primary tower will rise to approximately 272 meters with 56 floors and will house office space and residential apartments. A secondary tower about 80 meters tall will contain a luxury hotel and branded residences. Both towers sit on a three-level podium of roughly 58,000 square meters containing retail, cultural venues, and public gathering spaces. The architecture draws inspiration from the surrounding Trans-Ili Alatau mountains
