The AKG Y55 headphones are a DJs dream…ok well maybe not their dream, but it could be their go-to. This set of headphones provides comfort, function and style for an affordable price -- what else do you need?
I’m not going to act like I know much about DJing, but I dabble. In my limited practical experience, I’ve noticed some things that can make or break a set of DJ headphones. First and foremost is function; obviously you need a good set of headphones if you plan on rocking the house, missing queues because your ‘Cans’ (Headphones in laymen’s) suck is the absolute worst. The AKG Y55 headphones feature detachable cables, a wide frequency and a closed back for optimum audio performance.
The second and equally important feature is comfort. If you have to wear them for 3 hours, they damn well better feel right. The Y55’s feature a folding mechanism, rotator cuffs and snug ear cushions so there shouldn’t be many complaints. If you have these in your arsenal you’ll be more than ready to tear up the wheels of steel.
