The multi-talented Ainslie Henderson, who is a BAFTA-nominated animator, a writer and a director, created a poignant animated feature entirely out of wool. Titled ‘Moving On,’ the video addresses matters of life and death.
The stop-motion video was made to be a music video for Manchester band James, but it is getting accredited by creatives everywhere. Through the use of yarn, the video depicts a sorrowful, yet beautiful story about a loved one who is dying. By the end of the feature his life is literally hanging on a thread, because as he was dying, his body slowly unraveled.
When the little yarn man passed on, it showed his threads forming into a baby in the arms of its mother; thus suggesting that life comes back in full circle.
