IBM is Releasing Its AI Tools to Researchers and Medical Personnel

IBM is releasing the AI tools it developed in order to help researchers and medical professionals better understand the underlying processes of COVID-19. The AI tools consist of aggregated data, which relate to potential therapeutic materials, as well as sequenced genomes of SARS-CoV-2. The new AI data set will be able to empower the front-line personnel involved in developing treatments for the virus.

IBM will also be releasing its Functional Genomics Platform for free until the pandemic has subsided. The Functional Genomics Platform is a cloud research tool related to respiratory genes, as well as proteins and other viral and bacterial materials.

Currently, IBM has found 3,000 new molecules that could serve as potential therapies for the virus.
