X Shore, a well-known ( among boaters and enthusiasts) Swedish electric boat manufacturer, has released the X Shore 1 model as an affordable electric boat option. In making this design available for less money than its electric predecessors, the company is aiming to expand its audience. By providing an alternative to fossil fuel vessels, X Shore also advocates for sustainability.
The affordable electric boat clocks at €99,000 in price. According to X Shore, this is "around a third of the price of other high-performance electric boat models." It was built using a special blend of carbon fiber and fiberglass. The aesthetic of the vessel is quite slick, minimalist, and contemporary. The company also maintains that this new model is lightweight and, therefore, "more efficient through the water than most other electric boats."
