First announced as a concept a year ago by designer Khoi Vinh as Project LayUp, Adobe just released a refined version of the app called Adobe Comp CC.
This new Adobe app allows for powerful mobile creation of layouts for print and web on an iPad. Some of the things that you can do with this app include inputting headlines, photos, shapes and text using high-quality assets. Since this app is ideal for ideation on the go, preliminary creations are meant to be exported and finished in another design program from Adobe such as Adobe Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC or InDesign CC.
The transfer of high-quality files between mobile and desktop software is a result of a new file type called the Compound Document Format, which helps all devices communicate with a common language.
