The Lufthansa Group recently established the Accessibility Customer Advisory Committee. This new advisory body recently convened for its inaugural session in Frankfurt. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the North Rhine-Westphalia State Council for People with Disabilities and also includes the participation of Paralympic athletes Johanna Recktenwald and Nico Dreimüller.
The Accessibility Customer Advisory Committee is composed of individuals who have personal experience with various disabilities, including reduced mobility, visual or hearing challenges, and cognitive conditions. The group's mandate is to provide direct feedback and recommendations to the airline conglomerate to enhance service offerings for passengers with both visible and non-visible disabilities.
A key operational focus for the airline alliance involves the systematic adoption of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program across all its carrier brands, a scheme designed to allow individuals with non-visible conditions to discreetly signal their need for support.
