South Africa's Absa Bank is taking full advantage of the AI bots that can be used to interact with social media users on Facebook Messenger.
The 'Absa ChatBanking' bot makes it possible for a customer of the bank to interact with the artificially intelligent bot in the same way as a teller. What's most notable about the exchanges that can be had between human and bot is that they can unfold in natural language. In the future, the bank has plans for the bot to respond to questions like: "Can you check out how much cash I have?" with quips like: "Here is your latest balance, I bet you can't wait for pay day!"
With the aid of the smart bot, bank customers may also view their history, buy data, make payments and learn shortcuts for even quicker communication with the Absa ChatBanking tool.
