The 2015 Jeep Renegade Appeals to Urban Drivers with a Thirst for Adventure

The 2015 Jeep Renegade is an attempt by the legendary automaker to infiltrate one of the most rapidly expanding automobile segments in the world: the compact SUV. This vehicle has room for up to five passengers, a generous cargo compartment and a dual-panel sunroof.
Jeep is well-renowned for developing rugged off-road utility vehicles going back to the Second World War years, when it first gained prominence as a multi-functional off-road utility vehicle. The newest avatar of its Renegade SUVs is an attempt to infiltrate emerging auto markets in densely populated markets such as India, where compactness in vehicles is highly valued.
It is also an attempt by Jeep to appeal to a younger, urban market. Designers Ian Hedge and Jeremy Glover were instructed by Jeep's senior designers to "design a Jeep for yourself," and went about crafting a design that gets much of its inspiration for hip sports such as base-jumping, parkour and paintball.
Despite the fresh design perspective, a close look reveals that the 2015 Jeep Renegade retains many aspects of classic Jeep vehicles, including its trademark seven-slot grille and strong stance.
