Summer has arrived and as the June 2024 food trends reveal, sweet-heat seems to be the flavor profile that's set to dominate the season.
Continuing its meteoric rise to popularity, hot honey has really cemented itself as a fan-favorite flavor this season. Some of the highlights from the June 2024 food trends include Utz Mike’s Hot Honey Extra Hot potato chips, Kellanova's new Club Crisps with Mike’s Hot Honey, and Wawa's Signature Honey Hot Sandwich lineup.
Like hot honey, another sweet and spicy flavor that has been gaining mainstream popularity in the U.S. is Tajín seasoning. Though already a staple in Mexico, brands in the U.S. have only recently begun to use the seasoning to create buzz-worthy sweet-heat products like the Mango Tajin Donut by Randy's Donuts, Tajin Sorbet, and Starbird's new Elote Chop Salad, which features Tajin-spiced tortilla strips.
