From Interlocking Frame Tables to Clip-On Furniture Legs

While many designers take care to hide furniture joinery techniques, there are dozens of divergent creations that turn connectors into focal points of a design. This is exemplified in 'Patch' by Beza Projekt, which uses red cross-shaped joints to hold separate furniture components together.
As well as calling attention to the uniqueness of a furniture piece, designs like Snap, the 3D-printed + Shelf system and the 3-Pring Product by TAKT Project also allow for much more flexibility with customization.
When taken to the extreme, some of the most impressive furniture joinery designs do away with glue and extraneous fasteners entirely, making joinery more of an integral part of the design and less of an afterthought.
