When they can be considered social businesses as well, environmental conservation businesses sometimes are more on the planet side of the triple bottom line's "people, planet, profit" mantra but all the same, they meld the term which was founded by John Elkington in 1994. There are some patterns in the features here, for instance, travel companies often meld animal and/or environmental conservation into their trip itineraries.

Many of these environmental conservation businesses have a global outlook even if they're local in nature. For instance, the Stonepound Coffee Company is an ethical coffee distribution business that sources its beans from the Julia Campbell Agro-Forest in Pula, Asipulo, Philippine, which is also a conservation park that supports shade-grown coffee and bio-diversity in the region.
