The 'Zen50' Solar-Electric Yacht Has an Automated Wingsail

The Zen Yachts 'Zen50' solar-electric yacht has been unveiled by the brand as an eco-friendly aquatic vessel that would provide passengers with access to impressive amenities and an emissions-free sailing experience.

The yacht is designed by Julien Mélot and features a hull achieved with carbon fiber along with Corecell to help reduce drag without increasing overall weight. A 16kW solar roof will capture the sun's rays and store the energy in the 160kWh battery to power the electric propulsion system.

The Zen Yachts 'Zen50' solar-electric yacht can accommodate up to 12 passengers with additional sleeping spaces capable of being used as needed in the dining areas or saloons. The yacht is priced starting at $1.6-million and is expected to launch in early 2023.
