Kentucky-based producer Wilderness Trail Distillery has announced an exclusive, small-batch release to mark the 250th anniversary of the historic Wilderness Road — "the historic Kentucky trail that played a pivotal role in America's Westward expansion."
The commemorative spirit is a limited-edition 10-Year Wheated Bourbon, which is distinguished by a unique grain recipe that the distillery has not previously bottled commercially. The expression comprises a majority of corn with a significant portion of wheat and a small amount of malted barley. Three standout 10-year-old barrels were hand-selected by Wilderness Trail Distillery Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Pat Heist, along with his esteemed distilling team, for the occasion.
The limited-edition 10-Year Wheated Bourbon will be available only at Wilderness Trail Distillery's visitor center, with no plans for further production.
