Dyson’s redesigned Supersonic r hairdryer introduces a more compact and lightweight build, improving usability and maneuverability. The new model is 30% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor, with an ergonomic shape—resembling a lowercase "r"—that enhances visibility and flexibility during styling.
A streamlined motor, spinning at 130,000 RPM, is now housed within the handle, ensuring better weight distribution for reduced strain. The Supersonic r also incorporates three disc-shaped heating elements, magnetically attached styling accessories embedded with RFID technology, and easy-to-use controls.
The Supersonic was originally launched in 2016, and has only received color updates since its launch. The release of the Supersonic r back in 2024 marks the first time the brand has built upon the product's existing reputation.
