Kona Big Wave, the island-style premium lager, officially debuted its 'Soundwave Session' on May 15 in partnership with Spotify AUX, Spotify’s in-house music consultancy for brands. Taking place ahead of the Sand in My Boots festival, the event marked the beginning of a curated music series aimed at enhancing festival experiences through immersive brand engagement.
Headlined by indie folk artist DOPE LEMON and followed by a DJ set from Jungle, the session offered an intimate musical experience. Announced as part of Kona’s summer campaign, the Soundwave Sessions will also appear at major festivals including The Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Ohana Festival, and Ocean’s Calling.
Held at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, the activation transported attendees into a surf shop–themed speakeasy accessed through a Kona beer fridge. There, guests could enjoy live music, refreshments, customizable summer merchandise, and food—an experience designed to evoke Kona’s tropical roots and "Big Wave" spirit.
