Qualcomm Unveiled the Snapdragon 6 and 4 Gen 1 Processors

Following the release of its next-generation flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm unveiled the mid-range and low-range alternatives, titled the 'Snapdragon 6 Gen 1,' and 'Snapdragon 4 Gen 1.' These processors aren't exactly set to rival the SD 8+ Gen 1, but they are poised as upgraded versions of Qualcomm's previous 6xx and 4xx processors.

As such, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 outperforms the previous SD 695 in both clock speed and power efficiency. This results in a 40% gain in CPU performance and a 35% gain in GPU performance. This processor will be set in mid-range phones that will now be augmented with current-generation standards, such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 120Hz refresh rates, and more.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 still improves upon the previous 4xx lineup, but less so. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip delivers roughly 15% more performance on its CPU and a 10% boost to its GPU. However, the largest draw of this chip is that it supports ultra-fast-charging capable of a complete charge in just over 30 minutes.
