The Conceptual 'Safe Tag' Allows Shoppers to Test Devices Easily

Technology products like smartphones are kept secured to their display via a metallic cable in retail environments to prevent theft but this comes at the cost of the shopper experience, which is something the conceptual 'Safe Tag' is designed to change.

The smartphone retail security device works by being positioned onto the port of the device before being placed out on display and will go to work tracking the location of the phone. The tracking functionality is triggered as soon as it's removed from the dock, while it will also send location data to the store manager and sound an alarm if it's taken beyond a certain point.

The conceptual 'Safe Tag' is the deign work of the South Korea-based Kongtech Design Team.
