The RX 7900 GRE is a new graphics card by AMD, launched on August 3rd, 2023. It is based on the Navi 31 graphics processor, built on the 5 nm process, and supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. It has 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, running at up to 18 Gbps, and a memory interface of 256-bit. It features 80 compute units, 80 ray accelerators, and 160 AI accelerators. It has a base frequency of 1270 MHz, a boost frequency of up to 2245 MHz, and a game frequency of 1880 MHz.

The RX 7900 GRE is aimed at 1440p gaming, with AMD claiming that it can run most modern games at max settings with high frame rates. For example, it can run Cyberpunk 2077 at an average of 94 FPS, Forspoken (with raytracing) at an average of 72 FPS, and Dead Space (with raytracing) at an average of 76 FPS. The RX 7900 GRE has a typical board power of 260 W, and requires two 8-pin power connectors. It has three display outputs: one HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 2.1, and one USB Type-C. The RX 7900 GRE has a launch price of $649 USD, making it slightly more expensive than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, but also slightly faster in most games.
