Podback, the UK’s leading coffee pod recycling program, has expanded its reach with the installation of free drop-off points at three key Household Reuse and Recycling Centres (HRRCs): St Philip’s, Hartcliffe Way, and Avonmouth. This initiative brings Podback’s nationwide network to over 200 locations, making it even easier for consumers to responsibly dispose of used coffee, tea, milk, and hot chocolate pods.
Both plastic and aluminium pods are accepted, covering around 80% of the market. To streamline recycling, users are advised to store pods separately at home and deposit them loose—without bags or packaging—into clearly marked containers at the centres. Aluminium pods are processed in Cheshire, while plastic ones are sent to East Yorkshire for recycling.
Visitors must book appointments in advance, up to two weeks ahead, to drop off pods—except at Hartcliffe Way, where pedestrians and cyclists can access the site without a booking.
