Junji Ito Launches Realistic Human Flesh Objects Inspired by Tomie

To celebrate the release of Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, a Junji Ito-inspired horror anime series, Japanese manga artist Junji Ito has created a series of lifelike objects that resemble human flesh. The collaboration revolves around Junji Ito’s most iconic character, Tomie, who drives men to insanity through her siren-like powers and enchants them to engage in physical and psychological violence.

The product launch taps Japanese body art artist and DJ doooo, and features representations of Tomie’s left eye as dice, a coin pouch in the shape of lips, and a finger stamp. To make things characteristically terrifying, the eye dice has a realistic blinking function that can be activated by rubbing the bottom corners of the square.

From December 26 to January 16, the Junji Ito x doooo Tomie human flesh items will be accessible at Tsutaya Books in Daikanyama.
